Italian Stromboli

Italian Sausage Roll
1 packet of puff pastry
8 slices of sliced ham
10 slices of Genoa salami
12 slices of cured pepperoni
8 slices of mozzarella or cheddar cheese
(Feel free to substitute the cheese with shredded alternative)
2 tablespoons of clarified butter
2 minced garlic cloves
2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
Melt the clarified butter in the microwave, combine with minced garlic, parsley, and Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
I lined my baking tray with parchment paper.
Stretch the puff pastry out to almost the size of your baking tray.
Layer the cold cuts. I started with the ham, then the salami, and finished with the pepperoni.
Top with cheese.
Roll the Sausage Roll longwise, ensuring the seam is secure.
Curl the ends tightly. Use excess dough to reshape the underside of the Roll.
Make shallow cuts on the surface (to allow steam to escape during baking).
Brush the Sausage Roll with the garlic butter mixture.
Bake the Sausage Roll according to the packaging instructions for the puff pastry.
*The recommended baking time is identical to a regular pizza. Just don’t prebake as instructed on the package.
*Although traditional Sausage Roll is served with marinara sauce, I prefer to enjoy mine with a dip. Feel free to spread some inside if you like it!
