Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 cups potatoes (thinly sliced)
  • 10.5 ounce can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large skillet, add the ground beef, chopped onions, and minced garlic. Cook on medium-high heat until the beef is browned, making sure to drain any excess grease.
  • Spray an 11x8 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and layer the thinly sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Pour this mixture evenly over the potatoes.
  • Add the browned ground beef mixture on top of the soup-covered potatoes.

Baking

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 60-65 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft.
  • Remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
