Ham Bone Soup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ham bone containing some meat
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 14.5 oz can be peeled and diced tomato (with juice)
  • 1 15.25 oz can kidney beans
  • 3 potatoes cubed
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper Seeded and cubed
  • 4 cups water
  • 6 cubes chicken bouillon

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Ingredients
  • Put the ham bone, onion, chopped tomatoes, potatoes, kidney beans, and green bell pepper in the slow cooker (3-quart capacity or greater).
  • Add the Broth
  • Dissolve the cubes of chicken broth in water. Put the mixture in the slow cooker with all the ingredients.
  • Cook the Soup
  • The slow cooker should be covered, then ensure it is on high until the soup is warm. Lower the temperature to low and cook for 5 to 6 hours. The slow cooking process lets the flavors meld perfectly.
  • Serve
  • Remove the bone from the Ham and cut off any meat left. Add the beef back to it, mix, and serve hot.
