INGREDIENTS  

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper as desired
  • Two tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 1 tablespoon rice
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • Chops of green onion and sesame seeds to garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • 1. Sprinkle the chicken thighs by adding salt and pepper to both sides.
  • 2. The olive oil can be heated in an enormous skillet or pan on medium-high.
  • 3. Add the thighs of chicken to the skillet skin side down and cook for 5 to 6 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Then flip the chicken thighs over and cook for another 5-6 minutes on each side.
  • 4. While the chicken cooks, make the sauce with honey and garlic. In a bowl, mix chopped garlic, honey, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil until combined.
  • 5.When chicken thighs are cooked to perfection (reaching temperatures of internal 165oF, or 75degC), reduce the temperature to a medium-low.
  • 6. Sprinkle the honey-garlic sauce on the chicken thighs in the skillet, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • 7. Allow the chicken thighs to slow cook for about 2 minutes, and allow the flavors to blend while the sauce thickens a little.
  • 8. If you’d like the caramelized flavor, move this skillet to the oven to broil for about 2 minutes until the sauce has a nice bubbling process and then caramelizes.
  • 9. Take the skillet out of the oven and let the chicken thighs sit for a few minutes before serving.
  • 10.Serve with sesame seeds or chopped green onions, if you wish prior to serving.
