Preheat and Prep
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
Slice and Arrange
Slice the hot dogs into thirds or quarters, depending on their size.
Arrange the pieces in the prepared baking dish in an even layer.
Mix the Sauce
Whisk together the BBQ sauce, mustard, and liquid smoke in a bowl.
Pour the sauce over the hot dog pieces, tossing to coat evenly.
Prepare the Seasoning
Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a small dish.
Reserve ¼ cup of the brown sugar for later. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the hot dogs for even coverage.
Bake to Perfection
Bake the hot dogs in the oven for 1 hour, tossing halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Sweeten and Crisp
Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the reserved ¼ cup of brown sugar over the top.
Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the dish to the oven.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the burnt ends are caramelized and crispy.
Serve and Enjoy
Remove the Hot Dog Burnt Ends from the oven and serve warm. Pair them with deli salads and coleslaw, or serve as a snack with your favourite dipping sauces.
