Easy Sweet Chili Chicken

Crispy chicken pieces coated in a sweet and spicy chili sauce, perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional garnish: sliced green onions sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • In a bowl, add the egg and flour. Coat the chicken evenly with the mixture.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until crispy.
  • In a saucepan, combine garlic, ginger, sweet chili sauce, and soy sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the cooked chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.
