Cheesy Christmas Tree Bread

Ingredients
  

  • For the Bread:
  • 13 oz refrigerated pizza dough
  • Parchment paper for lining baking sheet
  • 6 –7 mozzarella cheese sticks cut into 30 bite-sized pieces
  • 1 large egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash
  • For the Garlic Butter:
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese divided
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • ½ tbsp fresh rosemary finely chopped
  • ½ tbsp fresh basil finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic grated
  • For Serving:
  • 1 jar marinara and pesto

Instructions
 

  • Preheat and Prepare
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Dough and Cheese
  • Cut the pizza dough into 30 equal squares.
  • Slice the mozzarella cheese sticks into 1-inch pieces (30 pieces in total).
  • Form the Balls
  • Place a piece of mozzarella cheese on each dough square.
  • Wrap the dough around the cheese, pinching to seal, then roll it into a smooth ball.
  • Shape the Tree
  • Arrange the dough balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree, ensuring the balls are touching.
  • Apply the Egg Wash
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
  • Brush each dough ball lightly with the egg wash to ensure a golden finish.
  • Bake
  • Bake the tree for 16–18 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
  • Prepare the Garlic Butter
  • While the bread is baked, microwave the butter until melted.
  • Stir half the Parmesan cheese, grated garlic, parsley, rosemary, and basil.
  • Finish the Bread
  • Once baked, brush the bread generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  • Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.
  • Serve
  • Serve the bread warm with marinara and pesto for dipping.
