For the Tacos

  • 8 pieces Corn or Flour Tortillas Use corn tortillas for a gluten-free option.

Toppings

  • 2 cups Cabbage Slaw For crunch and freshness.
  • 1 medium Avocado Buttery and rich.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro Burst of greenery.
  • 1 medium Lime Wedges for squeezing over tacos.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to make the spice mix.
  • Pat the fish dry with paper towels and coat evenly with olive oil. Sprinkle the spice mix generously over both sides.
  • Wrap the tortillas in aluminum foil and place them in the oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes.
  • Toss together the cabbage with a splash of lime juice, salt, and a pinch of pepper to prepare the slaw.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, gently place the seasoned fish in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until blackened and flaky.

Serving

  • Flake the cooked fish into large pieces and place in the warm tortillas.
  • Top with cabbage slaw, avocado slices, fresh cilantro, and a dollop of sour cream or yogurt.
  • Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top to finish.

Notes

Consider adding diced jalapeños to the slaw for a spicy kick. You can also substitute the fish with roasted veggies or tempeh for a vegetarian option, and try a taco assembly station for family fun!
