Ingredients
  

Meatloaf Base

  • 1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20) Optimal flavor
  • 1 large egg

Flavors and Fillings

  • 4 strips bacon, diced Cooked until crispy
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Or your favorite cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Plus extra for topping
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles Optional, for classic burger flavor
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Breading

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Panko works great for added crunch

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove from heat and let it drain on paper towels.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cooked bacon, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, onion, pickles (if using), egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Shaping and Baking

  • Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
  • Spread a layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Place your meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 55 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For healthier alternatives, use ground turkey, eliminate bacon, or add finely chopped veggies.
