easy Beef Pepper Rice

If you’ve been to Asia perhaps you’ve been aware of a well-known fast food chain that is known as the pepper lunch. It was there that introduced this popular chili rice made from beef. It’s really simple; it’s just cut beef, rice, green onions, and corn, as well as a sweet and salty sauce, served on a piping hot plate. It was my choice to include some spam on my plate this time, and it was a hit.

Ingredients that make up Beef Pepper Rice

A thinly cut piece of beef

A thinly cut piece of beef is, of course, one of the main ingredients in this recipe. You can get it in the meat or frozen section of most grocery stores. My preferred cut is sliced ribeye; however, other cuts like brisket and sirloin are also available when you find them. Here’s a pic of the cut I bought, which weighs around 1 pound.

Rice for Beef Pepper Rice

Fresh rice is perfect in this recipe however, I would prefer using day-old rice since it isn’t as spongy. We’ll include sauce, and possibly an egg, which will be a bit more liquid, therefore together day old rice gives the excellent outcome, according to me. I made use of the equivalent of 2 cups rice cooked.

The corn, the green onions onions, green onion Beef Pepper Rice

It is possible to find frozen corn kernels at almost every supermarket. It’s not difficult to make, but I do make a short soak in hot water, then drain it before putting the kernels in the heated pan.

Green onions are a great source of colour and add a nice splash of color to food. I typically cut my green onions thinly. However, in this recipe, you can cut them a bit thicker. This adds crunch and taste.

Regular yellow onions are cooked in the pan before being sauteed to let the flavours come out from the onions. I used a whole yellow onion in this recipe.

Butter

Butter adds flavour and also helps cook the food a bit more. I made my garlic butter, which is the same one that I made for the garlic bread two weeks back.

Spam: global Kitchen Staple with Long-lasting Appeal

Spam is a canned meat product that is precooked and has become an essential ingredient in kitchens worldwide. Since its creation with the benefit of Hormel Foods Corporation in 1937, Spam has gained popularity because of its shelf-life extension as well as its affordable price, and its ability to be used in a variety of recipes. It is a symbol of culture in particular regions such as Hawaii as well as South Korea; Spam features prominently in regional cuisines, ranging from the adored Spam Musubi to the hearty budae jjigae. Despite provoking debates about how to cook it, Spam remains a convenient protein source appropriate for grilling, frying or adding flavor to stews and soups. Its appeal is rooted in its capacity to offer fast, delicious meals, which makes it a beloved comfort food across the world.
